A beautiful and interesting mountain trip during which we have the opportunity to visit many scenic places - Mosorny Groń with a view of Babia Góra, or Police, from which there is a beautiful panorama of the Tatra Mountains. At the last point of the trip - at Hala Krupowa - there is a shelter where you can eat and rest.
Trail color: yellow - red - black
Walking time: 2 h 20 min (one way)
Highest point: Polica 1369 m above sea level
We start the trip at the top of Mosorny Groń, which we reached earlier on foot (approx. 1 h 30 min) or by chairlift. At the top we can admire a beautiful view of Babia Góra and the surrounding Beskid peaks. We follow the yellow signs (which after a while merge with blue ones), initially steeply downhill, and then on relatively flat terrain. After 15 minutes we reach the intersection at Hala Śmietanowa, from where we continue to follow the yellow signs. The next section is the steepest and physically demanding of the entire route. After 40 minutes we reach Cyl Hala Śmietanowa, from where Babia Góra looks beautiful. At this point we change the trail color to red and follow a much more pleasant, less steep forest path towards Policy. On this section we pass more nice viewpoints. After reaching the highest point of our trip (45 min), we can admire the wonderful panorama of the Tatra Mountains, but also numerous windmills. We will also encounter a monument reminding us that there was a plane crash on the slopes of Policy in 1969, which killed as many as 53 people. From Policy, we continue to follow the red signs, a very pleasant section of the trail. After 20 minutes we reach Złota Grapa, where there is an intersection of the red and green trails. We continue hiking until the Kucałowa Pass (15 min), where we change the trail to black and in just 5 minutes we reach the PTTK shelter in Hala Krupowa. From the shelter we can admire wonderful views of the Tatra Mountains. Returning via the same route takes 2 hours 05 minutes.
